About the
CEO'S
We have a passion for the building industry
Francois Fouché, the founder of Deo Volente, grew up in the building industry. From a very early age, he was taught the critical principles of quality which are the cornerstones of
DEO VOLENTE today.
Francois is married to Karen who is also a Director of the Company. She is doing outstanding work in the office dealing with the Oversees Customers, Agents, Suppliers, Attorneys, Customer Service, and finances. This couple is working together like a well-oiled machine.
DEO VOLENTE’s values are also their own values and their work will become a legacy for younger generations to follow.
Francois supervised numerous projects in the last 28 years. He also supervises every project to sign it off personally, regardless of the size of the project.

This project was built for a Norwegian client. We never met this client face to face. Everything from the quote to the occupation certificate was done by email. We sent weekly photos and updates. Please read his last email to us.
Francois le Roux
During 2021, Deo Volente Contractors attended to the addition of a study/media room at my Oubaai residence, on 1st floor level. The project was not without its challenges, and included a lot of concrete and steelwork, with cantilevered construction. I was based in another province during construction and had to rely on the expertise of DV to deal with the challenges during my absence. I was kept informed on progress weekly, via pictures and videos. It was a pleasure dealing with DV, and the result met our expectations. During 2022 Deo Volente assisted us with building and renovation work to our holiday home in Glentana.
Having any building work done to a home is extremely stressful. Add to this that you are 800km away from the Building site and it becomes a daunting task! But from the very first meeting with Francois and Karen we felt more at ease. They were very excited and ready for any request we threw their way. No job was too big or too small for them to handle. They were both open and honest during the process. They stuck to the original budget and time frame very well and in the end even had space for additional jobs!
Throughout the building and renovation process Francois always seemed to be one step ahead – anticipating building needs ahead of time and making suggestions on how we could make the task at hand more functional, better looking or more cost effective. We received weekly photos on work done and Francois always stayed in communication – even when cellphone signal was a problem! He never got frustrated when we added “another small project” to the list or when we had a change of heart.
At any given time during our renovation period, we always got the sense that Francois was doing the work as if it was being done to his own house. He has a fantastic eye for detail, which was incredibly important to us, and a lot of attention was given to getting the finishes just right. Francois did not hesitate to let a sub-contractor come back to redo something if he was not 100% happy with the job. He also did not hesitate to “nag” us about finishes that we did not feel was necessary but ended up adding a lot of value in the end!
We walked away from this project not only with a stunning holiday home, but with the friendship of two very special people. Thank you, Francois and Karen. You took a lot of the building stress onto your own shoulders and made it a process that we could enjoy and be excited about.
